Every and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME IT RAINS in medford or gold hill or rogue river or grants pass I always think to myself... IT MUST BE SNOWING ON MT. ASHLAND! I have been boarding for almost 10 years now and trust me.. it sure does rain alot here in southern oregon. It seems as though every time it rains I always have this thought in my head that it "had to have just snowed at least 40 inches of fresh powder to shred!!!" however I am usually wrong I still like to hope!

OHHH the original POWER RANGERS was seriously my biggest passion as a kid. Ever since I was 6 or 7 when the original power rangers movie came out I honestly believed I was "THE WHITE RANGER." When I got home that day from watching this movie, my buddy and I, of course, acted as if we were one of the power rangers. I of course was "THE WHITE RANGER." I decided it would be awesome if took a branch and used it like a sword... however the branch ended up going threw our $500 dollar window into my parents bedroom. GOOD TIMES.. GOOD TIMES!

Every time I even see, smell, or even hear the words "HOT POCKET" I think back to high school and how everyday my best friend chris and I would drive to my house for lunch to get one of those scrumptious items. However, I had a recent encounter with one that makes me want to BOYCOT them FOREVER!!!!! On my lunchbreak for work, I decided to make one of these... I bit into it and some of the grease from the inside shot out and gave me a thrid degree burn on the side of my face... so yes, I NOW HATE THEM AND AM GOING TO BOYCOT HOT POCKETS FOREVER!!! probably not... I think I might actually have one for lunch. =]

So here is my second limited edition of PACMAN fish fury 2.0. basically all I did was made the canvas bigger and added buildings and some more of the extra life soldiers. FIN! (no pun intended)

I particularly enjoyed creating this collage considering the fact that I absolutely love PACMAN!!! I turned PACMAN into a fish and made the extra lives army soldiers for no apparent reason whatsoever. For this class this is probably my absolute favorite collage that I have created with my widgets. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!! =)

Well in this collage I took the "magstrike" idea from a youtube video. I altered it to make it my own and took a crazed kid and posted him nude while holding it to make the collage a tid bit more humerous. In the background youll see the buildings in the first collage, however I added my sasquatch wearing a Jabbawakeez mask to keep the mood somewhat entertaining.

Gear Head (FIRST COLLAGE)

Here is my first collage I made while using the widgets. In this collage I turned a Jedi into a gear head.. ha. and I used the action silhouettes to create an interesting background! To me flash is a very new program, so I had some trouble getting to know it alittle. However I believe my first collage turned out fairly well!

Book Full o Snowboards

In these five photographs I chose the letters A,C,T,V, and X. It honestly took me about an hour to scrounge around campus to take each photo! However, I believe I managed pretty well in completing the alphabet soup task! Honestly I have never been one for photography however this assignment made me think about each individual shot I was going to take.

Every single time I look at this picture it turns from funny to hilarious in about .02 seconds. There is something about this picture that reminds me of the Geico commercials, you know the ones that say "so easy a cave man can do it.." It is hilarious what you can find on the internet these days! Honestly I can't tell you why.. it's just one of those things!

Cubecraft

I honestly found this project the most entertaining simply because it shows how creative you can be with the limitations you are given. For this cubecraft project I got my inspiration from a youtube video called "The Stash." If you have never watched it, it is a snowboarding video with these wooden figures that look like sasquatch.. however throughout the video you see that there is someone in a costume that looks just like the wooden figures.. This is where I got my inspiration.

Grizzly o' Doom!

This was the second sketch using that pad.. It was honestly kind of tough trying to figure out what I was going to do in the beginning however I found a design based off of my hat. I took this design and altered it into my own creation.. by color, stars and also by adding a bear as the main focus of the piece. I love the contrast of the warm and cool colors. The bear was just something I thought would be kind of fun and edgy.. so I added it.. anyways I feel as though its and overall successful piece.

Ghost sketch

This is just a quick sketch I did after halloween.. This was the first time I have ever used that sketch pad! I started with creating the ghost.. then added the tree and the moon.. I wanted to add more to the sketch however I felt as if it was going to be to chaotic.

The Simplicity of a Wipeout!

If you have ever surfed, ridden a snowboard, or have been wakeboarding, or anything of the sort, then you know the pain and brutal experience of a wipeout! I tried to capture that feeling in this piece by creating a washed out effect for surfing wipeouts. The thing that really captures your attention would probably be the guy pulling a christ air while bailing off his surf board getting ready to experience the pain of a belly flop. Oh the belly flop, we have all encountered one of those in our lifetime, am I wrong...

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell

What to say other than Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell is the freakin man! In this movie poster I wanted to show how much of a badass Chuck Liddell truly is. I took warm and cool colors and contrasted them in the background creating a split personality sort of feel to the piece. If you hadn't noticed the main focus of the piece is not "The Iceman" himself, but his fist. He may be old but he can still pack a punch when you mess with the wrong side of the caged octagon.

It's crazy to see how you can take the same image and distort it and make it original by simply messing with the hue, saturation, and contrast. Im sure you if you noticed I took a picture from a previous blog and simply made it more simplistic by altering the three distortions.

Burton Movie Poster

By taking a few Burton logos off the internet and the creator of Burton Snowboarding Co. himself, I created a movie poster in a matter of 5 to 10 minutes. Honestly this may have been one of my favorite pieces due to the fact for its simplicity. This is a monochromatic poster was simply created by 4 layers all have the opacity effect. This poster shows that by taking something so simple you can create a complex image in the matter of minutes.

Just a car... Think again

This is a picture of my dream car, Audi Le Mans, that I drew my Sophomore year at Rogue River High School. The whole purpose behind this car project was to portray the car we chose as realistic as possible. The media that was used in this was strictly plasma colored pencils. It was honestly the longest process I have ever used to create a picture. First we had to of course draw the car. Then we had to color in picture with all the colors except for black, because black "would smear and ruin the picture..." Then finally we had to blend all the colors together to make them as smooth as possible to try and get capture the original photographs energy. It may not sound that tough but trust me it was a very long and drawn out process over the span of 2-3 weeks.

Uncle Sam???

This is just a quick sketch that I drew in about a half an hour. I found an image off of the internet that really caught my attention... so I decided to sketch it. This is supposed to be a picture of Uncle Sam as a zombie. The actual picture has this figure with calligraphy at the bottom saying "Are you ready for a zombie attack..." however I decided I just wanted to keep it simple and leave it out for the viewer to figure out what I was trying to display.

Batman, Superman, Spiderman... OH MY!

Ever since you were little you would have someone that you looked up to whether it would be someone you idolized to someone who made an impact on your life. Well, I bet you can guess the three that I idolized... Batman, Superman, and good ol' Spiderman. As I think back to when I was younger to now, these characters mark the different stages of my life. That is why this trifecta would be an idealistic choice for my next tattoo. I am planning on maybe getting them as shown above, however not on my chest, in the shape of a trinity. I plan on keeping the same style as the ones above but a lot smaller. There is something about the style of this tattoo that really caught my eye. Plus it would just be a pretty flippin' sweet tattoo idea.

Sense of Peacefulness

If you haven't already noticed, I have this obsession with snowboarding. There is something about it that nothing else can satisfy. Sitting up on this massive mountainside glancing down at what's before me brings a sense of peacefulness and purpose to my life. Whether its grinding a rail or soaring off 20 foot jumps, you feel as though all weight has been lifted and you sort of just drift off into your own little world. This image provokes that dream world to me. I like how the photographer took the photo in a reflection perspective rather than a straight on shot of the boarder grinding the rail. This image provokes a sense of actually being there and viewing what is actually happening through someone else's' eyes or goggles in this case. Weird angles and obscure perspectives are what separate a good photographer from an outrageously excellent one.

Never Forget

This is a picture, that I found while browsing Google, that really jumped out and really caught my attention. I came across this photo while looking up a brand called volcom stone. The thing I love about volcom is how they tend to focus on how to make things as abstract and obscure as possible.

To me this particular piece has a really strong use of the color yellow, as well as the two other primary colors (blue and red), and how it draws your attention to focus on a certain portion of the picture mainly the snowboarder on the left. This particular brand has a very unique way of getting its point across. One thing that I noticed while glancing at this picture was that their is a sense of calmness to the left of the portrait whereas to the right there is commotion, anxiety, adrenaline etc.. I believe that this portrait is simply trying to say to "Never Forget" what you have just accomplished, in other words your past is what makes up your future.

My Devotion

This tattoo marked a very important time in my life! It combines two of my greatest passions, snowboarding and God. The arrow represents the Burton logo which is the logo that I am obsessed with drawing and doodling. The two bible verses inscribed inside the logo are two of my very favorite bible verses. Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will set your paths straight." and the other is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." These verses mark my religious devotion to God.

This picture was taken the day of getting inked and is still my very first tattoo. It was probably the longest 4 to 6 hours of my life! Honestly this was the some of the worst pain I have ever been in. It felt like the worst possible sunburn you could ever imagine with a cat ripping your skin off! However, when I woke up the next morning and saw the image on my leg... it was totally worth it in the long run! I plan on getting another one but am not looking forward to the needles...

A Web of G's (letter assignment 2)

I really like how this letter assignment made you think strongly about what you were going to create without going to over board. However this isn't the case in this one... I took the letter G and tried to make it seem as though they are a bunch of vines growing out and progressively becoming more and more complex, kind of like a web of G's.

Chimney or Gramophone Horn? (letter assignment 1)

I am more of an abstract kind of thinker, so I took the letter J and incorporated it in an abstract way. This particular piece reminds me of an one of those old gramophones spouting out music. However it could also be a chimney puffing smoke you never know... Which triggers the question, chimney or gramophone horn? All in all it's a simplistic piece with a fairly strong message portraying you see what you want to see in an art. piece.

Zombie Attack... 007... what??? (collage 2)

This is my second collage however it is definitely my favorite. For not knowing Photoshop very well, I think I pulled this one off fairly well. At first I had know idea what I was going to do. I got onto Google and and typed in James Bond silhouettes. I'm a huge fan of Bond, so I took his silhouette and placed him as the main focus in this collage. Eventually piece after piece it slowly began to come together. I eventually took some zombie and bird silhouettes and faded them into the picture. Some of you are probably thinking zombie attack... 007... what? Well someday I am hoping to see the new 007 fight off zombies, so that is the whole purpose behind this particular collage.

Well as we all know, everyone who was in Miles' first lab, we had to create a collage with one of those generic pictures. I decided to make him as goofy as possible and include a nuclear war in the background just to give it that extra flair. All in all, I don't think that its to bad.
